Haber P.A.: rebuilding a criminal defense site without losing a page
How we moved a Miami criminal defense firm off a page builder and paid plugins to a fast, editable, bilingual site.
The challenge
The firm’s site had been built on a visual page builder and several paid plugins. It was slow on phones, costly to keep licensed, and hard for the attorney’s team to edit. It also held years of articles, videos and legal guides that could not be lost.
What we did
- Rebuilt the site on a lightweight custom theme, with pages in the standard block editor
- Kept every page and URL, then compared old and new sites page by page before launch
- Replaced paid plugins with lean code and free tools, and removed unused ones
- Added a tap-to-call bar, short forms with spam protection, and authenticated email so enquiries arrive
- Recorded, edited and published 200+ short videos, then built them into a searchable library with video pages, thumbnails and a video sitemap, kept in step with the YouTube channel
- Wrote and published Spanish pages and county pages, with language tags and a language switch
- Translated the attorney’s ten legal guides into Spanish for attorney review
- Improved on-page SEO, structured data, image formats and accessibility
- Set up tracking and a process to show current reviews and peer endorsements from the firm’s Avvo profile
The result
The new site loads quickly on a phone, and the firm can edit it without a developer. It has a large video library, Spanish and county pages the old site never had, and working email and forms, so enquiries reach the attorney.
